Hace un par de días, tras la ruptura de mi Motorola Milestone, decidí comprarme un teléfono nuevo. Un amigo me había mostrado el Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V, el cual parecía tener muy buenas prestaciones en relación a su costo; Apenas conseguí la plata me lo compré. Como este post no está dedicado a cubrir lo que es el celular, voy directamente al tema.

El celular trajo Android Gingerbread 2.3.4, anda bien, pero yo estaba acostumbrado al CyanogenMod que tenía en mi Milestone, con Android Gingerbread 2.3.7; Entonces, me puse a averiguar como actualizar a una versión más moderna y funcional de Android.

Con los pasos que describo a continuación, conseguí instalarle un firmware OFICIAL DE SONY con Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4.

En la catedra “Administración de Base de Datos” de Tecnicatura Superior en Programación usamos PostgreSQL como motor de base de datos, y en la catedra Laboratorio de Computación 4 usamos Eclipse como IDE de desarrollo Java, Apache Tomcat 7 como servidor de aplicaciones web JSP y tambien PostgreSQL como motor de base de datos, aunque también existe la posibilidad de usar Firebird.

A continuación, una pequeña guía de como instalar en Fedora 17 los programas anteriores y DBeaver, un administrador de base de datos muy bueno, que tiene la capacidad de gestionar diversos motores.

I have 2 Samsung laser printers since 2 years ago, a ML-1640 and a CLP-315. Honestly, I never spent too much time to make them work in GNU/Linux, when I try to do it, only with CUPS, I couldn’t do it. Now, that I’m using Fedora 99,9% of the time that I’m sitting at a computer, I had to find the way to make them work. After ask a question in ask.fedoraproject.org, I recieved 2 answers, one of which worked.

Last year, anxiety, trouble and ignorance made me buy a tablet that has a spectacular look, and some features that for the time were very good, the Airlife 100 by HP Compaq.

Just out of the box, I loved it. White, light, nice and tiny, very promising. When I started to explore the Android system that it had, I noticed that it was not what I knew (I had met Android in a friend’s Motorola Milestone)

It turns out that this tablet brings Android 1.6, but for the worse (as always seems to happen with these privative companies) is not an ordinary Android system, it has limitations that prohibit you (among other things) access the official Android Market, and even, if I had the APK to install the applications, many can not be installed.

The product (as expected) had little market impact, all it got were complaints, then I started to find out what could be done.

I read many publications on some pages and it seems that there are many people who want to do something with this tablet, my idea is join all these people to work together to make this tablet more functional.

Acabo de instalar la versión final de Cyanogenmod (7.2.2) en mi Motorola Milestone, anteriormente había instalado la Release Candidate 2 de la versión 7.0.2 y el gran problema que el encontré fue que no podía bloquear la pantalla.
